The event we volunteered at last weekend was amazing. Just amazing. I am not gonna lie, my favorite part of it was Krystle Lemonias artist site‘ slideshow on her work.

Let’s get this out of the way:

DIY, not d-i-e is a project to deal with real-world sustainability, through art (as CoffeeAndCreatures, and as a textile/leather/mono-print/lino-print sort of thing), through permaculture, through fitness for anybody that wants to move around, through supporting indie music, and through finding & sharing ways to keep older technology useful. All of this goes together to support a more thoughtful & modest lifestyle.

Lemonias’ work does everything an artist’s work is asked to do, as far as I am concerned.

And I, who comes from the dominant culture? I am not looking to document what is or was. I am trying to highlight rampant waste and consumerism, and direct attention to consumer identities.
